Zayn, who was born 12 January 1993, is an English singer and songwriter. Born and raised in Bradford, Zayn dreamt of becoming a professional singer and have a career in music from a young age. Pursuing this goal, he auditioned as a solo artist for the British music competition The X Factor in 2010. Although he was eliminated, Zayn was brought back into the show along with four other contestants, to form the boy band which would become known internationally as One Direction.
Zayn split from the group five years later and signed a solo recording contract in 2015, adopting a more alternative R&B music style with his debut album Mind of Mine and its lead single Pillowtalk. He became the first male singer to debut at number one in both the UK and US with a debut single and debut album. He has won several awards including an American Music Award, Billboard Music Award and MTV Music Video Award.
In the recent years, Zayn has released other singles that led him to the top-ten in different countries. It’s the case of songs such as I don’t wanna live forever along with Taylor Swift for the soundtrack of Fifty Shades Darker; and Dusk till dawn, featuring Sia.

Zayn, nacido el 12 de enero de 1993, es un cantante y compositor inglés. Nacido y criado en Bradford, Zayn soñaba desde temprana edad con convertirse en cantante profesional y hacer carrera en la música. Siguiendo su objetivo, en 2010 se presentó a las audiciones del programa de televisión Factor X como artista en solitario, pero fue eliminado para volver después junto a otros cuatro concursantes como miembro de la boy band internacionalmente conocida como One Direction.
Zayn se separó del grupo cinco años después y firmó un contrato en solitario en 2015. Adoptó un estilo musical más cercano al R&B alternativo con su álbum debut Mind of Mine y su single principal Pillowtalk. Fue el primer cantante masculino en conseguir un primer puesto en las listas tanto en Reino Unido como en los Estados Unidos con un álbum y single debut. Ha ganado diversos premios como un American Music Award, un Billboard Music Award y un MTV Music Video Award.
Recientemente, Zayn ha lanzado al mercado otros singles que le han llevado al top-ten de diferentes países.
