Thirty Seconds to Mars is an American rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1998. The band consists of Jared Leto (lead vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards), Shannon Leto (drums, percussion) and Tomo Miličević (lead guitar, bass, violin, keyboards).
The band achieved worldwide fame with the release of their second album A Beautiful Lie (2005), which became platinum in the United States. They have sold over 15 million albums worldwide. 30 seconds to Mars have been compared to the sounds of bands such as Pink Floyd, The Cure, Tool, and U2, for their philosophical and spiritual lyrics.
